Euro Tour 2012 continued..

Parked up in Brussels on a scorcher of a drive, no caning the whip as have a slight manifold blow & backup whip is in bits.

Sun on the bare feet is a little treat to be savoured.

Local brew, ice cold, from dodgeyest area in Europe I have ever been to.
Gangs of surly immigrant kids on every street corner.

So the Spits pics are on the previous page & we somehow managed to get out of Brussels at like 3 in the morning. Kwinten very kindly let me crash in the VW, this was awesome.
Next Morning after a trip to the local supermarket, a breakfast fit for a king.

Then onto Brussels with Kwinten travelling on the Vespa, he beat me, but hey, the traffic was shit, just like London.

Then it all went off, there was a ghetto tent for shade, which was nice.

If you see Kwinten skate you will be amazed.
Here below he is blasting in the bone shattering bowl.

Then overnight on the road, i love these warm nights & long days.

Next Stop Munster NRW.

Euro Tour 2012

OK gonna make a start.

check oil etc

visit Ostende, look out for this lighthouse on the seafront to find it.
It is built in an old Velodrome, you probably knew that?

Then on to Brussels to be ready for the Spits.

Thankfully not my ride, new tyre & a bit of a buff up?

Then get a message to say Halle is done & head over there.

Halle, last crete poured this morning, Bruno says a session is on!

Great Park with amazing setting in lovely old town.

Koen was on good form, he has a bad knee, but you would be hard pressed to tell.

Yes that flat bottom crete was poured this morning, long hot days of summer.

Bruno & Koen on back yard steps. Sorry don't know other guy's name.

Then the spits.

They were very good.
Next day was the Ursuline Festival thing in Brussels, more about this later..

Robin pics we have been waiting for.

No they are not flying yet. But they want worms.

Clutch on WRX.

Not a very nice job this one.
WRX has done over 90k so time for a new clutch.
Only info I had, was that it was changed at 14k under warranty.
So 70 is meant to be the replacement interval.

OK, so when you remove the clutch you need to get this bar at the top of the gearbox out.
It is what the release fork pivots on.
Screw in a bolt & when it is tight, just pull the bar out.
What if the bolt breaks off?
Well you have this situation..

Get yourself some new drill bits & start drilling, I suggest you don't bother with carbon tips as they don't seem to work.  This hole was drilled with a new Bosch bit & drilled bigger with a 4mm Bosch bit.

Finally I was able to get a self tapping screw into it.

And it did pull out; this was a special moment.

Then to drop the gearbox out I put a garden rubbish bag full of old compost under there & bingo the box was out.

The thrust release bearing is a bit noisy .

And finally the moment of truth arrives.

Nah, the plate didn't need changing after all.
Must have been done when the car was serviced in the last 20 thousand miles I suppose.
Had been in there ages though, so maybe it needed changing.
Just trying to make myself feel better now.

Well it looks like it has worn a bit, but really, this job was not necessary.
Unless the pressure plate or flywheel are causing this outside edge wear.
I can't be bothered to change flywheel at the moment.
Lets see...

More motoring news soon.

Birdie update.

Yeah, this picture is a bit boring I know, but at least they are all still there & having a little sleep.
I think it is a neck on the LHS with his little head snuggled into his brothers / sisters.
