Portland

So, on returning to Portland, there were plenty of parks to skate.
I wish you could stretch time some how, it does feel like the days were extra long & that so much happened that it must have been more than 20 days.
It got to a point where I had forgotten where I had been.
Battleground in particular I kept forgetting if I had ever been there (Old-timers disease I think).
I will let the pictures do the talking here as I really want to get up to date & let everyone see the amazing stuff going on in Essex.

Scanlan day out at Newberg

1st drop in - Donald July 2012

Donald, another scorcher.

Hudson in the 2012 Unifecta Bowl.

Hood River, the big bowl is still scary.

Dogs drying.

Best obstacle at Windells, grinds for miles.

This is Noot he does wall rides & climbs / jumps up trees.

Brooklyn St needs support, the flat-bottom & rest of the extension requires donations.

This old boy is probably the best swimmer there ever was.

Humming Birds, who knew?

Cachaqua

Yep, the town, the skatepark.

Well when you say town, there is a store / cafe & a trailer park.
Much else, not really.
Well apart from the world class skate bowl on the Eggleston plot.

Cherry has seen it all before.

The setting, everything, it is beyond what you imagined.

Zarosh has an old Volvo 444, it is rad, some rats love to make houses under the bonnet & in the footwells, we cleared their nests out & moved the beast to a better position, this is the first time in a few years that the wheels have turned, maybe next time we can bump start it on the drive & ride it into town?

Then the sun goes down.

Thanks Zarosh & your dad.

Zarosh Visit

The journey was great until trying to get past San Francisco.

Obligatory Weed Sign

If you look closely this is so sad it isn't funny.
Hail to the beef, followed by Heart & Stroke clinic ad, followed by Stars & Stripes. I despair.

So wanted to see San Jose park; next time.

This is the traffic, just like being on the 25 on a Friday evening, well maybe not, but those folks leaving SF are gonna be in that queue for ages.

Then onto SC to meet Zarosh at Broprints.

This must be one of the worst roads, maybe it was the time of day / week, but pretty much everyone was driving like an idiot & this is twisty.

                                                The man himself, bearing stickers.

Just a minute fraction of the Eggleston collection.

I love this graphic, it has very special meaning to me. The heart torn out in the hand, has been on my pool boards for years.

Fridge Art.

When we got to Derby, it was getting dark, my old eyes couldn't cope & nor could the old 3GS, these give an idea of the park & the way Zarosh kills it.

Very nice & smooth.

Did use the Nikon a bit, which was better.

Derby was a complete surprise to me, such a great place & a perfect use of a small space. Totally fun & skatable & the kerbs make it unique.
